Bretton Woods

about

'Bretton Woods' is a song I have written about a year ago. Since then I shaped this track with the mixing over and over again but finally it is in a state that I can, more or less, be proud of. It was worth taking time with it.
For the artwork, I have chosen this snapshot of Emil’s because it fits the song perfectly. Isolation, alienation and the overcome of technology reflects from the scene but it still represents the courage and desperation the individual can and must have to create something and give a meaning to life in a world that is falling apart.

Happy New Year!

-Greg from Sungazers.

“The Bretton Woods Agreement is the landmark system for monetary and exchange rate management established in 1944. It was developed at the United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference held in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, from July 1 to July 22, 1944.”

lyrics

fences hatred doors
treaties bomb the cores
nil handshakes connect
used to unravel wars

make it happen again
the power of our nonsense
post-brexit fields
door without a clench

and you
and your
last chance

the whole world is
just a sinking boat
towards deep water
we slowly float

we are worthless
to remain strong
losing our positions
we are wrong

resilient
to arguments
with people from
lower stares

(we are here to see if we can
make any change we have never
felt so desperate we are here to
see what we’ve made what we have not)

of the boat we share
of the boat sinks
into the sins
of our kind
